Since 2015, the Boston Institute for Nonprofit Journalism has nurtured and maintained collaborative relationships with independent news organizations in Greater Boston and beyond, even working with many alternative newsweeklies across the country to co-publish critical coverage of opioids, mass surveillance, and other issues that are relevant to readers everywhere despite the state and local focus of our output.
Though a number of our partners from over the years have unfortunately stopped publishing, BINJ continues to connect with new collaborators of various types. Some of our latest additions are newsletter-based outlets with large readerships; others are hyperlocal startups in the Massachusetts suburbs; a few are legacy Hub institutions that we finally cracked after several years of networking; all significantly expand the reach of our reporting.
