Community Journalism 101 is a series of free, low-barrier, two-hour journalism workshops, open to community members with little or no reporting experience. They are run by Boston Institute for Nonprofit Journalism (BINJ), often in partnership with the Somerville Media Center.
Participants learn how to interview people, do background research, write in basic Associated Press style, and cover a range of issues. At the end, we aim to host a network of community journalists and reporters with whom we can work closely on reporting initiatives, who who we can help access other opportunities.
