Editor’s Note: BINJ.News Launching New Newsletter Format

We’re starting Volume 4 of our weekly publication next week and with it a new look!

Pretty wild that the Boston Institute for Nonprofit Journalism is about to start the fourth year of publishing our weekly newsletter next week! And my BINJ colleagues and I figured that milestone would be a perfect excuse to give it a new look and feel—since we’re moving over to MailChimp from another platform for our regular email blasts to our subscribers anyway.

Nothing earth shattering about any of this from the reader’s perspective other than that the new design will be a bit nicer than the old one. But I thought I should mention it since this week’s edition is doing two things that might be somewhat confusing: providing a double edition including last week’s edition that some of you got and some of you didn’t as well as this week’s edition, and it’s helping test MailChimp to our full subscriber list.

However, since our new system for producing newsletters for MailChimp directly out of our website isn’t quite ready yet, this week’s newsletter will appear in a minimalist format without any design flourishes. So be aware that the BINJ.News Newsletter will look different for the second week in a row next week. Otherwise thanks, as always, to everyone reading this for being part of our growing audience!

The Boston Institute for Nonprofit Journalism produces bold independent journalism for Greater Boston and beyond.
Since 2015, BINJ has been producing hard-hitting news and analysis focusing on housing, criminal justice, the environment, government malfeasance, corporate corruption—and shedding light wherever it’s needed.

We work with some of the most experienced reporters in Greater Boston, and we also train dozens of emerging journalists each year to help them learn critical skills while providing quality reporting to our audience.

BINJ not only produces important stories; we also share our work for free with other community news outlets around Massachusetts, while organizing and leading at the regional and national levels of the nonprofit news industry.

We collaborate with other community publications and engage the public in civic educational initiatives
