Work at the Polls
The City of Somerville is hiring polling place workers for the 2022 elections. Hundreds of poll workers will be needed this year to conduct a successful election.
Ideally, poll workers will commit to both election days: Tuesday, Sept. 6, and Tuesday, Nov. 8. Each workday starts at 6:30 a.m. and ends after the polls close at 8 p.m., with a two-hour break. Poll workers earn between $200 and $265 per day, depending on their responsibilities.
Interested? Register to attend a one-hour, in-person information session on Thursday, July 28, at City Hall (93 Highland Ave.) at 2 p.m. or 6 p.m. If you can’t make an information session but would like to learn more, please call the Elections Office at 617-625-6600, ext. 4200.
Virtually Tour the Patriots Hall of Fame
Attention all New England Patriots fans: The Somerville Public Library is offering a live virtual tour of the Patriots Hall of Fame.
The tour will take place on Wednesday, August 3 at 7 p.m. on Zoom. Registration is required and is limited to 100 attendees. Please note that this virtual tour will be live, and will not be recorded.
The Patriots Hall of Fame gives fans a unique, technologically advanced venue to celebrate great moments and great players. The Hall is a modern “museum” that takes guests through Patriots and New England football history in a cutting-edge way, utilizing video and audio to tap into fans’ emotions.
The Virtual Tour is an entertaining, informative presentation of Patriots history. During this 90-minute experience, you will get an inside look at some unique artifacts, and you can ask your burning Pats questions during an interactive Q&A session.

Learn About 35 McGrath Highway Development Proposal
The public is invited to join Ward 2 City Councilor J.T. Scott, The DeNunzio Group on behalf of the owners of 35 Realty Trust, and the City of Somerville for a Neighborhood Meeting under SZO Section 15.1.3. The developer will introduce a conceptual plan for the approximately 135,000-square-foot proposed lab development at 35 McGrath Highway, and discuss potential impacts and other issues.
The virtual Zoom meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 27, at 6 p.m.
Representatives from the design team will be available to answer questions. Everyone is welcome to attend to learn more about this project and share your feedback.
